The minimum wage will also increase by CZK 1,000 to CZK 16,200 per month gross. However, this affects not only low-income employees who are paid this wage level. Along with this, the so-called guaranteed wage, which is the basis for other professions in the private sector, will also increase. It is graded according to the complexity, responsibility and difficulty of the work into eight levels.
The increase in the minimum wage will also affect other amounts, such as additional earnings for jobseekers, childcare allowance and eligibility for a tax bonus.
Paternity leave is actually time off with pay to help dads help their wives or girlfriends care for their newborn child. Now the father of the child is entitled to a week off within six weeks of the birth. In 2022, men can enjoy up to 14 days of this leave. The change is brought about by an amendment to the Sickness Insurance Act.
