The Financial Administration has made registration for the new electronic sales records system available to business owners. Starting in early November, they can use the MOJE daně portal to activate the EET, set up recording units, and generate the cash register certificates needed to configure their point-of-sale systems. The actual obligation to record sales will take effect on January 1, 2027.
Preparations can be made through the Tax Information Box Plus (DIS+). Business owners can log in using, for example, Citizen Identity or a data box, and then activate the Sales Records section. The Financial Administration also recommends verifying in advance that the point-of-sale system being used is ready. In addition, starting December 1, the free web application MOJE EET—designed primarily for smaller businesses—will be available. January 2027 will be a pilot month: sales will already be recorded as standard, but according to its schedule, the Financial Administration will not enforce compliance during this period.
The Chamber of Deputies approved the new version of the EET back in July; following further steps in the legislative process, Act No. 180/2026 Coll. was promulgated on October 7. Unlike the original EET, it will not be mandatory to print receipts, and the recording requirement will also apply to cashless payments made in person. Conversely, remote payments—such as standard payments made in online stores—will not be subject to these recording requirements. The law takes effect on January 1, 2027.
