On what principles do we protect your documents?

We build our security measures on three key pillars:

• Secure client account – Your documents are stored in a protected application from the start.
• Encryption and archiving – After the case is closed, all data is encrypted and stored securely outside our domain so it doesn’t “hang” on the internet for years.
• Strictly Controlled Access – Only a dedicated attorney will have access to documents when handling your case, and only an authorized security officer will have access after closing. Additionally, access is protected by multiple levels of security.

How do you work with the data before and after the case is closed?

• The client creates a secure user account on the www.dostupnyadvokat.cz website, where they upload all necessary documents and information. Thus, information is not exchanged via emails with the lowest level of security, as is common on the market.
• Access to this data is exclusively for a lawyer specialised in the particular area of law. This means that your sensitive information is not handled by an entire team of lawyers, but only by the lawyer handling your case – just like in a traditional law firm with a single lawyer.
• Once the case is closed, all data is then encrypted with an advanced algorithm that is also used to protect top secret information. This unreadable data is then securely archived in a special storage facility outside the internet environment, where it is not at risk of hacking or any other manipulation. Here, only a designated security officer (now two people throughout the company) has access to it.
• Should the client or their attorney need to recover the data, they can submit a request, which will go through careful personal verification by the appropriate staff member (this process is not really automated for added security). This system ensures maximum privacy protection as well as the ability to securely access in an emergency.

Traditional vs. modern approach to legal data security

Many law firms are still taking an outdated approach to protecting sensitive documents. Documents often travel through regular email inboxes without encryption (called freemails), are stored on local computer drives without any security, or are even printed and put away in physical archives where there may be no real control over them.
