Data boxes are moving to a new address

Starting August 27, 2026, users who enter the current address mojedatovaschranka.cz will be automatically redirected to the new address datovka.gov.cz. The new domain is already operational. The Digital and Information Agency states thatthe goal of the change is to consolidate important government services under the gov.cz domain so that people can more easily recognize that they are on an official public administration website. Users should be especially aware that passwords saved in their browser for the original address may not be automatically pre-filled on the new domain. Therefore, when logging in for the first time, it may be necessary to enter login credentials manually or use a Citizen Identity, such as a bank identity or the eGovernment Mobile Key.

From a practical standpoint, it is important to note that the address change does not affect the data box, does not delete messages, and does not alter the obligation to monitor the data box. Anyone who has set up email notifications for new messages should also expect the sender of these notifications to change from the original address to the new address notifikace@datovka.gov.cz and, if necessary, adjust their email filters. Additionally, starting in August, it is no longer possible to log in to the web version of the Citizen Portal via the data box; Citizen Identity is now required for this purpose. Users should only enter official email addresses with the gov.cz domain and should not respond to emails asking them to verify their identity or enter their login credentials via a link.
