The incursion of the Russian army into the territory of Ukraine is a serious violation of international law by Russia that cannot be tolerated in any way. We do not want to stand idly by and, since our main weapon is the law and the law, we want to help the citizens of the invaded state to at least use it.
We willbe happy to help any person of Ukrainian nationality who is dealing with a legal problem, whether in connection with an unplanned arrival in the Czech Republic (e.g. housing, work permits, insurance, etc.) or in connection with planning next steps (family reunification, etc.).
We have contacted our attorneys to see if they are willing to get involved. Every single one of them agreed and volunteered. We can’t prevent war, but we can at least offer our time and help those who have fled war for a reduced fee.
Our system allows us to quickly get an assignment from a client and give advice remotely. We can also be contacted by phone or in person.

Below we add the basic information that applies to Ukrainian citizens and is valid as of 2 March 2022:
Residence, visas, asylum
Citizens of Ukraine are currently allowed to apply for a specific type of long-term visa.
Any citizen of Ukraine may enter the territory of the Czech Republic without a visa, only on the basis of a valid biometric passport, for a maximum period of 90 days. The Ukrainian border guards do not allow men of this age to cross the border at the moment, due to the general mobilization of men between the ages of 18 and 60.
If you do not have a biometric passport, it is possible to enter our territory after individual assessment. For children, a birth certificate is also accepted. Now citizens of Ukraine are rather not recommended to enter the lengthy asylum procedure. It seems to be more efficient to apply for a special long-term visa, which will be processed on the spot, and it is also possible to apply for a work permit and work immediately. However, every foreigner has the right to apply for asylum.
It is important to take out travel health insurance for the duration of your visa-free stay (this can also be taken out online).
It is the duty of every foreigner arriving in the Czech Republic to register within 3 days with the Police of the Czech Republic – at the Department of Residence of Foreigners of the Foreign Police Department (in case of accommodation in hotels or other official accommodation facilities, this duty is handled by the accommodation provider). If you are staying in private accommodation, you must go to the Police in person. Children (foreigners) under 15 years of age are not obliged to report their place of residence. They do not have to register.
Work, work permit
Following on from the above long-term visa, which is processed at the offices of the Ministry of the Interior (Department of Asylum and Migration Policy), it is then possible to find a job and obtain a work permit from the Labour Office .
Health insurance
To stay in the Czech Republic, you need to have health insurance. If you are employed, you are legally insured. If you are not employed here, you must have your own insurance.
If you are granted a special long-stay visa, you will automatically be covered by public health insurance.
For more information on health insurance and the provision of health services, please visit the Ministry of Health website.
