The amendment also unified the previously inconsistent legislation, where the Air Act and the Waste Act contradicted each other.
The only exceptions are cases where the fire is intended for recreational purposes (e.g. roasting a barbecue) or concerns the burning of wood in stoves that meet emission limits. Those who break the rules risk a fine of up to CZK 50,000, and entrepreneurs up to CZK 500,000. The widespread burning of vegetation (e.g. grass or weeds) is subject to further penalties under the Fire Protection Act. Only dry, unpolluted plant material, such as dry wood, may be burned on open fires . Even if you are planning a bonfire or other permitted form of fire, it is recommended to report the fire in advance via the website paleni.izscr.cz. This way, the fire brigade will know that it is not a dangerous fire and you will avoid an unnecessary call-out by the emergency services.
