The flexible Labor Code amendment passed by the Senate on April 9, 2025, makes several significant changes. The notice period will now start from the date of delivery of the notice, rather than from the first day of the following month. In the case of dismissal for misconduct, it may be reduced to one month. The probationary period will be extended from three to four months, and up to eight months for managers. Employees will be able to organise their own working time if they agree in writing with their employer.
The amendment also changes the conditions for unemployment benefits. In the first two months, the benefit will increase to 80% of the previous net earnings, falling to 40% in the last two months. Nine months of work will be required to regain the benefit, instead of the current six. The changes to the allowance will take effect from January 2026
