Flexinovela is changing the Labour Code as of June. What all is changing?

From 1 June 2025, the so-called flexinovela of the Labour Code comes into force. It brings faster notice, longer probation periods, more security for parents and part-time jobs for minors. The changes will affect both employees and employers.

The main new features include:

  • the notice period will start from the date of delivery and can be as short as one month,
  • the probationary period will be extended to 4 or 8 months,
  • more time off for weddings, funerals and medical appointments,
  • a more secure return after parental leave and the possibility of earning extra money in the same field,
  • part-time jobs for pupils aged 14 and over during the summer holidays,
  • extension of the initial medical check-ups for contract workers,
  • the possibility to pay wages in foreign currency and the end of the ban on talking about wages.

Further changes, such as higher unemployment benefits, are expected from January 2026.
