A cooperative share represents the rights and obligations of a cooperative member arising from membership in a housing cooperative. It is in particular the right to use a particular apartment. In the case of transfer of ownership of a cooperative apartment, we are not transferring the ownership of the apartment as such, but we are transferring the cooperative share in the housing cooperative.
