The Customs Administration of the Czech Republic collects customs duties, taxes, performs certain security tasks and monitors compliance with various obligations. It is established by Act No. 17/2012 on the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic.
The Customs Administration has two basic levels. Firstly, there is the General Directorate of Customs based in Prague and the second level is the customs offices, of which there are fifteen in the Czech Republic. There are 14 customs offices in regional towns and the fifteenth is at Václav Havel Airport – the Customs Office Ruzyně in Prague. The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic is the superior body of the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic.
